A fiery crash recently led to several injuries in California. The serious accident took place on a Monday morning. According to authorities, the driver of a dump truck caused the multi-vehicle collision.
Police reported that a person driving a dump truck all of a sudden crashed into multiple cars. The impact of the collision caused several automobiles to catch fire. A total of 10 cars ended up being involved in the crash and resulting fire.
Witnesses said that firefighters and bystanders pulled accident victims from their burning motor vehicles, including a woman who was screaming while trapped inside her van. The injuries that resulted from the accident ranged from relatively minor injuries to serious ones. No fatalities were reported.
The dump truck driver may be held liable for the injuries resulting from the California crash if authorities determine that he or she caused the crash due to negligent behavior, like speeding or driving while distracted -- such as while texting. The injury victims may opt to file personal injury claims against the truck driver as well as his or her employer, seeking the reimbursement of financial damages sustained in the fiery collision. A preponderance of the evidence is required to establish liability in such a car accident case. Only then will claims for damages be determined. A successfully fought case may result in a damage award that might help the injury accident victims to cover their medical bills, and even the loss of wages or other losses resulting from the serious accident.
