Serious accident leads to 5 deaths in California

Five people's lives were cut short in a tragic car collision in California. The serious accident occurred at Road 30 and Avenue 9 on a Saturday morning. Two cars were involved in the crash.

The wreck took place at about 11 a.m. According to authorities, a car was going west along Avenue 9 and blew through a stop sign. As a result, the car reportedly struck a pickup truck.

Both of the automobiles landed in an area vineyard as a result of the impact of the collision. Three people in the pickup truck passed away, whereas two individuals in the car died in the wreck. Witnesses apparently told police that the driver of the car was going between 70 and 80 miles per hour at the time of the accident -- much higher than the area's speed limit of 55 miles per hour.

The surviving loved ones of the three people in the pickup who lost their lives may choose to file wrongful death claims related to the California crash, seeking the reimbursement of monetary damages. Likewise, the loved ones of the car passenger who died may file a wrongful death claim. Even though the driver of the car who allegedly caused the accident, potentially due to speeding, ended up dying in the collision, this person's estate could still be sued. Likewise, anybody with an ownership interest in the car may be sued. A successfully litigated lawsuit may lead to damages that might help with addressing burial expenses and other costs stemming from the serious accident.
