Fiery truck accident leads to 9 injuries

Nine individuals suffered injuries in a recent crash involving a semi in California. The truck accident took place along Highway 1 on a Tuesday morning. According to authorities, the accident occurred because the truck's brakes failed.

At around 9:52 a.m., a truck was reportedly carrying clay. All of a sudden, the truck ended up losing its brakes while making its way onto Highway 1 from Highway 17. As a result, the truck collided with stopped traffic that was waiting in front of a red light.

The truck ultimately hit 20 motor vehicles as well as guardrails and caught fire. Of the nine people who were injured in the accident, two suffered critical injuries. Authorities said that big rigs like the one involved in the crash may experience brake failure if they are overloaded or if their drivers are not using the brakes properly.

If a police investigation reveals that the driver of the big rig involved in the recent crash caused the crash due to negligent driving, the injured victims may choose to file personal injury claims against the driver, seeking the reimbursement of monetary damages. The employer of the driver may also be named in these lawsuits. Competent proof of negligence is necessary to establish liability before the civil court hearing the case. When this happens, claims for financial damages will be determined. A successfully fought lawsuit may result in a financial award that might help with addressing hospital bills, the loss of wages and other expenses stemming from the California truck accident.
