Car accident leads to 1 death, multiple injuries

One man has lost his life and another has suffered injuries in a tragic motor vehicle wreck in California. The car accident took place during the early morning hours on a Wednesday. Three motor vehicles were involved in the crash, which occurred at a street intersection.

According to authorities, a man was driving a pickup truck west along an avenue and tried to turn left onto another street. However, the pickup truck reportedly enter another truck's path. Police said the second truck was unable to stop quickly enough, so it struck the first truck's passenger side.

The passenger in the first truck, age 56, passed away as a result of the collision. Meanwhile, the driver, 34, suffered moderate injuries and was transported to a medical center. The second truck's driver suffered minor injuries. In addition, a car that ended up being sideswiped in the accident also received minor injuries.

The family members of the passenger who died in the California accident may choose to file a wrongful death claim against the first pickup truck driver, seeking the reimbursement of financial damages. The reason for this is that drivers may be held liable for any injuries or deaths that they caused when making left turns, as they are legally required to yield to traffic moving along the street they are trying to cross. A successfully fought suit, based upon a showing of negligence, might result in monetary damages that may help with covering funeral costs and other losses tied to the car accident.
