2 men lose lives in serious accident

Two men sadly lost their lives in a recent California motor vehicle collision, leaving their surviving loved ones grieving and wondering how the accident could have happened. Both of the men who died in the serious accident were 19 years old. Sometimes, these types of accidents are the result of driver negligence, which is grounds for litigation in the Golden State.

According to authorities, one of the men involved in the recent California crash was speeding as he tried to pass other cars. Police said that the man, however, ended up losing control of his car. The car reportedly collided with a walnut tree.

The driver and his male passenger both died in the collision. Police said they did not immediately know if drugs or alcohol were causal factors in the collision. Police closed the roads for multiple hours as they investigated the fatal crash.

The family members of the passenger who died in the crash may opt to file a wrongful death claim, seeking the reimbursement of financial damages. Even though the man who allegedly caused the fatal accident lost his life in the crash, his estate might still be sued. In addition, any person with an ownership interest in the car he was driving when the wreck occurred may be named in the lawsuit.

A case that is fought successfully in California, based upon a showing of negligence, may lead to a monetary damage award. Monetary damages cannot undo the events leading to the car passenger's tragic death. However, it may help his loved ones to address his funeral costs and other losses stemming from the serious accident.
